Lost

Which path I meant to take,

I noticed I made a mistake.

Not lost or even in fear,

Though darkness covers my rear.

The trees aligned, the sweetened pine,

Tell which direction to mind.

Walking for miles, avoiding deep piles

Of mud and swamp water around.

Spirits are low, the sun doesn’t show

Past the canopy laid above.

Would I love to take flight like the dove,

Instead, there are bushels to shove…

Now my mind races to solve this plight,

But now there’s no end in sight…

There’s plenty of ways to settle and graze

Or fall deep into another steep maze.
